Paris Police Reports – August 9th, 2018

Around 4:24 p.m. officers responded to a traffic accident in the 2700 block of Lamar Ave and as a result of the investigation made contact with 31-year-old Corey Smith.

“Smith was found to have two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and was placed under arrest for the warrants,” said Lt. John Berry.

Smith was also found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Earlier, around 9:34 a.m officers responded to the 100 block of SE 24th in regards to a fraud complaint which was said to have occurred elsewhere.

It was reported that an unknown suspect had used the complainant’s banking information to conduct several financial transactions.

The investigation is ongoing.

Paris Police responded to 102 calls for service and arrested 5 persons over the past 24 hours ending at 6:00 a.m. on August 10, 2018.
