At approximately 02:30 hrs, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of N. Main. After observing an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, the occupants were removed and a search of the vehicle was performed. A handbag inside the vehicle contained drug parerphenalia as well as methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for open container and the passenger, Melisssa De La Paz, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled substance. She was taken to the Paris Police Department and processed without incident. The narcotics were tested and seized as evidence in the case.
Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1700 block of East Cherry where they were informed by a witness and a complainant that Richard Reynolds had been repeatedly threatening the complainant by stating that he would “Burn down the house” with the victim inside. Complainant was in fear of harm and Reynolds nor the victim were willing to leave the residence. Reynolds was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threats.
A report was taken from a business in the 1600 block of N Main St in which a known suspect stole 900.00 worth of lottery tickets. The suspect was identified by store personnel and investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 1200 block of Northeast 6th Street at approximately 0320 on April 20. Complainants were sitting in a vehicle when another vehicle drove past them, turned around and came back past. The suspect vehicle stopped a short distance away and then individuals in the suspect vehicle fired several shots at the complainant’s vehicle striking it with one shot. There were no injuries reported and the incident is under investigation.
