Paris Independent School District came alive with color, music, and celebration as students, staff, and families gathered for the district’s annual Hispanic Heritage Program. The event honored the traditions, stories, and vibrant cultures that make up the Hispanic community, showcasing the talents of students from Bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.
Students took the stage with energetic performances, including traditional dances and songs that celebrated the richness and diversity of Hispanic culture. Crockett Intermediate student Sofia Perales shared a heartfelt poem in honor of the occasion, while Paris High School senior April Medina served as the evening’s emcee, guiding the audience through the program with poise and enthusiasm.
Adding to the festive environment, art students from Paris Junior High transformed the auditorium and foyer with stunning decorations inspired by Hispanic art and design. Under the guidance of art teacher Aaryn Honeywood, their creativity brought even more life to the celebration. “Each year, my students look forward to contributing their artwork,” said Honeywood. “They love being part of something that honors culture and brings our students together.”
The celebration was more than just a performance—it was a reminder of the power of culture, the importance of inclusion, and the strength found in diversity. Paris ISD is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and honor the many contributions Hispanic Americans make to our schools, community, and nation.
