A man from Oklahoma is behind bars today after a traffic stop lead officers on a high-speed chase from Honey Grove to Ladonia just after 9 p.m. on Sunday.

“The pursuit started from a traffic stop for defective equipment,” said Lt. Frank Deater with the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office . “The subject fled from the officer from Honey Grove to Ladonia before wrecking out on County Road 3925 at County Road 3930.”

The suspect, later identified as 45-year old Donnie Lee Scraper out of Oklahoma, then fled on foot.

“TDJC came out with a K9 and the suspect was apprehended a short time later,” added Deater.

Authorities believe Scraper may have thrown something out of the vehicle during the chase which they are working on recovering.

Scraper was arrested and transported to the Fannin County Jail.
