The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the murder of Phillip Jones on Nov. 15, 2021. Sacarious Holman is charged as an adult with First Degree Murder. He was arraigned yesterday in Choctaw County and taken to a juvenile detention center to await trial.
The Hugo Police Department requested assistance from the OSBI after Choctaw County dispatch received a 9-1-1 call at 10:45 p.m. reporting that Jones, 34, was deceased. He was found in the backyard of a home in the 800 block of West First in Hugo with gunshot wounds.
Two suspects were identified during the investigation, Holman and another juvenile of Native American descent. The FBI then joined the investigation due to the McGirt Supreme Court ruling.
