North Lamar Independent School District (ISD) is proud to announce that it has been awarded $138,976.00 through the Regional Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant program, sponsored by the Texas Workforce Commission.
This grant will play a crucial role in further developing North Lamar ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
North Lamar ISD has used their JET grant funding to enhance the CTE welding program by purchasing specific equipment, including boom welders, an ironworker, a 5×10 plasma cutter with a pneumatic water table, and a plate roller — all of which are used in today’s industries.
This current technology will assist in preparing North Lamar students for successful futures in a competitive industrial job market.
