A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter on Thursday after a major wreck involving multiple vehicles on Loop 286 resulted in the death of 31-year old Emily Echols.
Around 5:59 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the 1200 block of SW Loop 286 in response to a major vehicle wreck, involving a semi-truck-trailer and two passenger vehicles.
The occupants of one of the passenger vehicles were critically injured and transported to Paris Regional health. Nichols did not survive her injuries and the status of the other occupants is unknown at this time.
23-year old Joshua Okeith Fluellen Jr. was charged with Intoxication with a Vehicle and Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle resulting in Serious Bodily injury.
TXDOT personnel were summoned to assist in shutting down east and westbound traffic in the vicinity of the accident.
The Paris Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team was on scene for several hours processing the scene and are continuing their investigation.
