Hundreds of Honey Grove ISD students will receive a new pair of shoes thanks to a generous donation from an organization that wishes to stay anonymous.
“Our district was very blessed by an amazing organization in town,” said Ashley Odom, Honey Grove Elementary School Principal. “Through a special program, all of our students will be receiving new shoes.”
Odom said she received an email from the organization that measures and orders the shoes and they came up with a date and time for volunteers to measure their students.
Around 405 students from Pre-K to eighth-grade will be receiving a new pair of shoes.
“The program was designed to bless students in rural communities,” she said. “The students were thrilled at the news of getting new shoes. They were all eager for their turn to get measured. This has truly been a blessing for families at HGISD.”
The new shoes should arrive in December.
