Malachi David Alexander Herndon, 4 years old, was called to his heavenly home on June 15th , 2025. Malachi was a heritage from the Lord and his life was a blessing to us all.
Malachi was born on June 10th , 2021 and his arrival was welcomed by his adoring parents, Thomas and Sarah Herndon and his forever friend and big brother, Leland Herndon.
Malachi brought joy to the hearts of everyone who knew him with his contagious laughter and his witty personality. He loved being silly and his favorite nickname for himself was “Cutie Donut”. Malachi was always ready with hugs for everyone and he never missed a chance to tell someone that he loved them – even if that someone was the exterminator from Terminix.
Malachi was most excellent at naming his stuffed animals, including fan favorites such as, “Scuba Diver the Leafy Sea Dragon”, “Malachi the Puppy Dog”, “Little Guy the Pink Panda” and “Blueberry Dinosaur”. He was a Lego-extraordinaire and he thought they were the finest toys ever to exist.
Malachi attended Trinity Christian Preschool, where he was meticulously cared for and well-loved for the past two years. He enjoyed learning and playing with all his teachers and his friends. He loved being in Ms. Taylor’s class and he was looking forward to moving into Ms. Jett’s class in the fall for Pre-K.
Malachi had many aspirations for when he grew up, including being a giant robot spider, a race car driver, a “doctor dentist”, and finally being old enough to have his own Dr. Pepper. He loved airplanes, tractors, farming and spending time with his family – especially his brother and all his little cousins, who were his favorite playmates.
Malachi is survived by his parents, Thomas and Sarah Herndon, his big brother, Leland Herndon, his grandmother, Angie Jones, his grandparents, Tom and Angelia Herndon, his great-grandmothers, Ruby Grigsby and Diana Herndon, his great-grandfather, Edward Emanuel, and his many beloved aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins. Malachi was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Jones and his uncle, Micah Jones.
