Denny Mac Huggins, 75, of Roxton, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Paris Regional Health.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22nd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Restland Cemetery at Roxton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 4 – 6 p.m.
Denny, the son of Dennis Huggins and Lois Walker Huggins, was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Paris, TX. He graduated from Roxton High School and then went to Dallas where he worked and attended trade school for floor covering. Denny was then drafted into the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He was with the 66th USA Arty Det USAREUR and received the National Defense Service Medal. During his time in the Army, he worked on the Hercules Guided Missile which later became the Patriot Missile. In October 1971, he was honorably discharged and returned to Lamar County. He worked in floor covering for a short period of time. Denny then began doing paint and body work on antique cars which he did until his passing. He loved antique cars and could take a rusty piece of metal and make it look new. He attended Three Rusty Nails Cowboy Church in Cooper.
His parents and a sister, Joy Chittum, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Moore Huggins, whom he married on January 22, 1972, building 53 years of family and memories, one son, Denny Huggins and wife Michelle, grandchildren, Kalyn Huggins, Brittani Hess and husband Todd, Christine Sasser and husband James, Paige Hellman and husband Brad, and Caleb Winters and wife Shelby and one sister, Rhonda Vann and her son Jordan along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Robert Walker, Jerry Garrett, Mitchell Hignight, Brandon Hancock, Cole Hignight, and Jeff Hancock. Honorary bearers will be: Don Hilliard, Danny Burns, Benny Fields, and Elbert Winn.
