Following a lengthy investigation, 38-year old Michael Clark Sikes was indicted for Sexual Performance by a Child <14 Produce/Direct/Promote, Possession of Child Pornography <100, Child Grooming, Indecency with a Child by Contact, and two counts of Indecency with a Child by Exposure.
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office Special Crime Detectives began the investigation into Sikes in January 2025, reviewing data from devices seized through search warrants.
In April 2025, detectives obtained multiple arrest warrants for Sikes, including Possession of Child Pornography, one felony warrant for Sexual Performance by a Child <14, and one felony warrant for Child Grooming.
In May of 2025, Detectives finished reviewing the data for all the devices. In June of 2025, through a Grand Jury Indictment, Sikes was indicted for Sexual Performance by a Child <14 Produce/Direct/Promote; Possession of Child Pornography <100; Child Grooming; Indecency with a Child by Contact; two counts Indecency with a Child by Exposure.
Sikes is currently in the Lamar County Jail, with bonds totaling $335,000.00
“I commend the Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children detectives who worked diligently over the past few months to complete this investigation. This investigation led to the arrest of Sikes, who is now in jail on several charges, where he belongs, and off our streets,” said Sheriff Scott Cass.
