Locals are celebrating tonight as local musician, Trey Rose made it through the “Blind Auditions” of NBC’s The Voice.

Rose sang “Wake Me Up” by Avicii in hopes one of the judges, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend or Adam Levine would turn their chair.

Both Levine and Shelton turned their chairs, arguing over who Rose should pick but in the end, he went with Levine.

“You blew me away! You are a person who could win this thing. You are a BEAST,” said Levine

Rose has a unique vocal style that many compare to the like of Rob Thomas, Gavin Degraw, and Marc Broussard.

While many might assume the Texas-based singer would favor a country genre, Rose is passionate about creating his own style of music and that’s what we’re expected to see this season

The Hugo, Oklahoma born singer, who is a local favorite selling out bars, has received rave reviews throughout his musical career including a stellar review from a Grammy Award Winning Producer.

“With a progressive, soulful voice, blended with a southern rock twist, Trey delivers! This guy really has potential,” said the Grammy Award Winning Producer Chuck Ebert.
