The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce held their first ‘Food for Thought’ luncheon today with 29 chamber members learning more about the ins and outs of social media.

Those in attendance heard from guest speakers Melissa Gordon, Ashley Babb and Broadway Scott Dustin.

“We are thrilled that we had such a great turnout,” said Melissa Gordon from Harrison Walker Harper.

Topics relating to social media such as fan pages, tracking posts, boosting vs organic, algorithms, live videos, creating pages and more were discussed throughout the luncheon.

“When Broadway, Ashley, Gina and I discussed hosting a social media class for chamber members we had no idea we would have such interest,” said Gordon.

“We are so thankful to be able to volunteer our time and help local businesses grow their social media presence.”

The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce plans on doing a ‘Food for Thought’ luncheon several times a year.
