BONHAM, TX – The Fannin County Children’s Center recently announced a brand new facility to come thanks to a generous land donation.

“For more than 26 years, our center has served hundreds of children from hard places each year. Our center has continued to evolve and develop to meet the growing and changing needs of our community’s most vulnerable children,” the Fannin County Children’s Center said on their website. “In the past two years, the number of children referred to our Children’s Advocacy Center has more than doubled. Over the past three years, the number of children served by our CASA program has more than doubled too.”

“It’s going to help kids for years to come,” said the executive director at the Fannin County Children’s Center, Sandy Barber.

Barber also said the eight acres of land will allow for their new center which was donated by Roy and Jan Reimer, who live in California.

The land is located at the corner of Lee and Albert Broadfoot in Bonham.  Just south of the old golf course and east of the Bonham High School baseball field.  It’s said to be a great location, near two schools and centrally located.

“Next steps are to find an architect, develop construction plans for the new place, create a budget and raise the funds needed,” the center said on their website.

The children’s center is a non-profit that serves to promote safety and improve the lives of abused and neglected children.
