The Lamar Point Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will be hosting a benefit for Kaila Brewster, who is battling Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, on the 8th of June from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia is a progressive and uncommon type of blood-cell cancer that begins within one’s bone marrow.

The benefit will be hosted at the Lamar Point VFD Fire Station, located at 6612 FM 1500.

Cheeseburgers or hamburgers with chips and a drink will be served at a cost of $7 for adults. Child from ages 5 to 10-years-old at $3 and free for children 4 years and younger.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help with medical bills, as well as go towards living expenses during recovery.

A live auction will also be had. To donate items, call Brenda Storey at (903) 900-8604 or Jessica Schwab at (903) 715-3500
