The Lamar County Sheriff’s office is warning locals about a recent scam.

“We have gotten several phone calls in reference to a man calling and stating that he is a Deputy for the Lamar County Sheriff’s office working out of the warrants/citation department,” said LCSO on their Facebook page yesterday afternoon.

According to the post, the man is telling people that they did not show up for jury duty and that if they do not go to CVS and put money on a card to send to him that a warrant will be issued for failure to appear.

This is a scam, please do not fall victim.

If you are unsure, call the Lamar County Sheriff’s office at (903) 737-2400
