The Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Paris had another successful year at the 17th Annual Johnny Stallings Memorial Turtle Float race, raising over $50,000.
“While we are still processing the final donations, the turtle sales are currently over $54,000,” said Boy’s and Girl’s Club executive director Jason Macchia.
The turtle race is one of two major fundraising events the Boy’s and Girl’s Club holds each year. Even with the push back of the race to July from May, Macchia said there were around 100 spectators that turned out in hopes of being one of the lucky winners.
“The weather made for a great morning. We appreciate those who helped us raise the money and all those who adopted turtles to support our kids,” he added.
The money raised will go directly toward the club’s continued efforts to support the community’s kids.
