An emergency meeting called this afternoon by the Reno City Council saw Reno Police Chief, Matt Birch resign effective immediately.
Lieutenant Jeremy Massey will be in command until a new chief is appointed.
“We have full faith in Lt. Massey leading the Reno Police Department while the process of appointing a new chief begins,” said Reno Mayor, Bart Jetton.
