The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce is hosting their first ‘Food for Thought’ luncheon for local businesses.
Lamar County Chamber of Commerce Director of Operations, Gina Crawford had the idea after attending a recent CCCE Conference.
“We plan to do one quarterly and would like to have them on different topics each time. Social Media was our first choice because social media is such an important part of business advertising,” said Crawford.
Those attending the luncheon will hear from guest speakers Melissa Gordon, Ashley Babb, and Broadway.
“Social Media has come so far, it amazes me daily,” said Paris Glam owner Ashley Babb. “It has become over 50% of our business, even as a brick & mortar! I am excited to help others learn about expanding their business with social media. Helping others is a piece of my purpose in life and I’m excited to be able to shine a light on social media for others.”
Melissa Gordon from Harrison Walker Harper joined the Chamber Social Media Ambassador group as a way to help local businesses.
“I wanted to help in any way I could. Having knowledge of using social media as a marketing tool for the last ten years has given me a lot of insight that I want to share with other local businesses. My hope is that attendees can take away at least one top or trick that they can implement into their social media practices to benefit their business,” said Gordon.
The luncheon is being held Thursday, April 19th, from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce office.
Cost is $7 and covers your lunch.
