Kids Clinic of Paris, a new pediatric center is set to open its doors to the community on July 1st, offering services dedicated for children and families in Lamar County.

“Our goal is to provide comprehensive pediatric care in the comforts of our patient’s hometown,” said owner Traci Craig, CPNP-PC. “We will provide annual well-child checks, sports physicals, sick and minor injuries visits, teen health, ADHD, and asthma care.”

Craig, who started her career in pediatrics in 2009 and holds a Masters in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, said she has always had a passion for ‘small humans’.

“I love that every day I get to work with children, teaching parents about the development of their child and the illnesses as they encounter them,” said Craig.

“While working as a nurse, and later while studying to be a pediatric nurse practitioner, I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge in pediatrics by additionally working in the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Emergency Room. There I was able to provide care to some of the sickest of children that were brought in from the region.”

In 2013, Craig also obtained a Lactation Certification and plans on offering lactation consults for breastfeeding mothers at Kids Clinic of Paris.

“Since graduating in 2015, I have worked as a Pediatric Urgent Care Provider and a Pediatric Primary Care Provider. I have also had the great pleasure of returning to my alma mater to guest lecture at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to Pediatric Nurse Practitioner students about high-risk infants, toddlerhood, nutrition and basic breastfeeding education.”

Kids Clinic of Paris is located at 345 Stone Avenue in Paris and will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm.

“We will begin taking appointments on June 24th and will open their doors on July 1st,” said Craig. “In compliance for state regulations for nurse practitioners, MD supervision will be provided by Dr. Sherri Barclay, whom I have had a great working relationship with for over two years in her private practice in Sulphur Springs. She is a fantastic Board Certified Pediatrician.”

Most commercial insurances, Medi-shares, and Tricare as well as Texas and Oklahoma Medicaid and CHIPS. Self-pay patients will be welcome at a discounted rate.

Kids Clinic is an independently owned private practice.

“I’ve got a great staff and I am looking forward to the opportunity to take care of the small humans in my community at Kids Clinic of Paris.”
