The leader of the nation’s largest state Republican Party, Texas GOP Chairman Lt. Col. Allen B. West, will deliver a speech at Lamar County Fairgrounds at 2 p.m. on Saturday during the Paris Patriot Rally.
Robert Black, Association of Lamar County Republicans President, said Allen will speak on whatever topic he chooses during the patriotic rally.
“(Allen) will have the freedom to speak about what he feels will encourage the people,” Black said. “What Texas is doing at the state level and what Texas will be doing to try and force DC to represent the people of Texas.”
Black said the organization has seen several discouraged and disheartened individuals since the inauguration.
“Many feel like there is no hope in our Republic, and this rally is to dispute that. We have to build our networks more than ever before and continue to work to empower the people,” Black said.
“America wasn’t founded upon the backs of individuals that gave up, but rather on the backs of those who fought no matter the cost. I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know that what I must do as a true Patriot — continue to believe in the foundation of our country. For God then Country.”
The Paris Patriot Rally, at Lamar County Fairgrounds, 570 E. Center St., is hosted by the Association of Lamar County Republicans. If there is bad weather, the event will move into Building C.
