East Texas Communities Foundation is on track to achieve their highest granting year on record by awarding more than $17 million to over 700 different nonprofit organizations.
“ETCF is honored to connect generosity with need,” said Kyle Penney, President of East Texas Communities Foundation. “Thanks to the support of our donors, and the work of dedicated and talented nonprofits, we are able to fund solutions that address community needs.”
More than half of the grants benefited nonprofits in ETCF’s 32 county service area that includes: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Freestone, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Lamar, Leon, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood counties.
The top awards categories were Education (21%), Religion (19%), and Human Services (16%).
“Our donors have really stepped up to provide support for nonprofits and we still have a couple of weeks left to process grants for 2021,” said Penney. “This milestone year for grant making is a true reflection of our communities’ generosity and we are really proud to play a small part in that.”
