Mrs. Vest was born Feb. 8, 1932, to Charles and Irene Gibson Rheudasil. She grew up in Deport, TX, later moving to Paris and graduated from Paris High School. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married William Edward Vest. Together they raised Mary Lynn, David Christopher, and Paul Gene Vest, all residents of Paris, TX. Other survivors include grandchildren, Jennifer Brooke Urbanski (Zac), Christopher Paul Mead, Paul Gunner Vest, Presley Rose Vest, and Philip Carson Vest; great grandchildren, Emma Brooke Brown (Noah), and her namesake Dixie June Uranbski along with numerous nieces and nephews.
June, affectionately known as NeeNaw, after raising her own children, began running her “bus route” for her grandchildren. She was always on call for her children and grandchildren. In addition, June loved to sew. She created all her children’s clothes during their grade school years. In her later years, she began doing alterations and always enjoyed visiting with her clients, who were also dear friends. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Bill preceded her in death in Oct. 2007. Others who preceded her in death were her parents, her in-laws, R. E. and Nina Vest, a grandson, Caden O’Neal Vest, and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Rheudasil (Pat), Jerry Rheudasil (Myrna), and Bill Rheudasil (Pam Hasford Rheudasil). A special niece, Sandra Chadwick, preceded her in death.
During the last year of her life, June came to know and love her caregivers from On Call Home Health and Hospice. She always looked forward to their visits and her family, we are eternally grateful for the love and care shown to our mother. To Wendy, Cassidy, April, Crystal, Bryce, John, Kayla, Jessie, and Jimmy Lee, a special thanks for your loving care. To those of you who called and checked on mom, we love and appreciate your support. To mom’s best friend, Elise Parker, affectionately know as “Trouble”, a special thank you for the many appointments and lunches you attended with mom. A heartfelt thank you to Richard Rheudasil for his love and guidance throughout this journey, as well as Betsy Bolton, Andy Addy, Cindy McDowell, and Lisa Pynes Slagle.
