The countdown is on to the 31st Annual Uncle Jesse’s Big Bass Classic fishing tournament this Saturday at Pat Mayse Lake.
This year first place will take home $5,000 with second through thirtieth places paid also.
There is a special catch prize of $400 for the fish that weighs in closest to 4 pounds without going which is sponsored by Ballard Insurance,.
There will be the 10 Lucky Ducks on the lake again, which are worth $50 each and any time you make a purchase at the concession stand you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a TV sponsored by Paris Coffee Company.
Proceeds from the annual tournament have helped many local children’s nonprofit organizations over the years and will continue to do so.
The tournament kicks off at 6 a.m. on Saturday and all fish must be caught on Pat Mayse Lake.
Fishermen may begin weighing their fish at noon until 3 p.m. Fishermen may only weigh-in one fish.
The tournament is sponsored by Sonic, America’s Drive-In and Brannan’s Bass Shop in Powderly, Texas.
Registration will take place until Friday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Brannan’s Bass Shop.
The raffle this year will be a Custom Angle Rod and Reel and the tickets are $1 each.
The Fishermen’s Hot Seat will also be happening again this year, sponsored by The Liberty National Bank in Paris, Texas. All entries received by Saturday, April 28 will be entered into an Early Bird Drawing for a separate drawing.
To be eligible to fish in the tournament, all fishermen must have a valid Texas fishing license.
Participants under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or an adult with written consent.
The cost for an individual is $50, and team entries are $225 for a 4-man team.
