Registrations for the Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop 5K Run & Walk In Their Shoes event is OPEN!!

“We are very excited about this event,” said Adopt-A-Cop president Amanda Willows, “Our community is once again pulling together to launch National Police Week and to help provide safety equipment for our local law enforcement and first responders.”

Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop is currently working towards providing trauma kits for officers in Lamar County who have not yet received them.

“These kits can be carried on them and are filled with potentially life-saving medical supplies for traumatic injuries such as gunshot or stab wounds,” said Willows.

The trauma kits have proved to be life-saving, with an officer in Pennsylvania recently saving his own life with a trauma kit after being shot multiple times.

All proceeds from the Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop 5K Run & Walk In Their Shoes will go towards these trauma kits.

The race will begin and end at Reno City Hall where there will also be ‘Community Day’ festivities after the race, as well as, K-9 demonstration, a bounce house, face painting and more.

“We are so blessed to have such a caring and supportive community.”

Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop is a 501c non-profit organization.
