Nancy Jo Sharpe Bailey, 92, of Paris, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25th, at Detroit Cemetery with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. A formal visitation is not scheduled, however, friends and family may pay their respects at the funeral home.
Nancy was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Detroit, Texas, the daughter of George & Clara Sharpe. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Paris. Mrs. Bailey attended Paris Junior College and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1946. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Herman C. Bailey, and they had a happy life together for 57 years before his death in 2003.
She was a high school teacher for a number of years. Later she worked at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas where she retired in 1984. In 1985, Nancy and Herman moved to Paris to spend their retirement years.
During her lifetime, she was a loving & devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf, reading, and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Drey & husband Bob of Fairview, a son, Jeff Bailey & wife Janis of Bonham, four grandchildren; Whitney, Austin, Tyler and B. J. along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a grandson, Jean Paul Ohadi and two brothers, Hugh Sharpe & Jack Sharpe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Frist Christian Church, 780 N. E. 20th Street, Paris, TX 75460.
