On Thursday evening, August 20, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 2100 block of East Polk Street.
Upon arrival, officers contacted an individual involved in the disturbance, who reported that a male family member had assaulted him and then threatened to kill him with a firearm. The victim reported that the threat caused him to fear for his life.
During the investigation, officers also determined that a child was present during the incident, creating a situation that placed the child in danger.
As a result of the investigation, one male was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Abandoning or Endangering a Child, both felony offenses.
The suspect was transported to the Paris Police Department, where he was booked and processed without further incident. He was later transported to Lamar County Jail.
Officers made 7 traffic stops, made 6 adult arrests, and answered 61 calls for service during this reporting period.
