James Rolland “Jimmy” “JJ” Spargur III, 52, of Paris, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at Heritage House of Paris. He was born in Cambridge, MA, March 25, 1974, to James and Ruth Spargur.
At 9 months old the family moved to Amarillo, TX. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1994. He later worked for J Lee Milligan after he graduated high school.
In 2000, JJ got his CDL and drove the lower 48 states where he eventually worked for Rocking T until he got sick.
JJ would talk with anyone about trucks and driving and would help anyone who wanted to learn. One of his biggest joys in life was taking loved ones on the semi and seeing the scenery.
He loved going to the lake and enjoyed fishing anytime he could. Football season was always his favorite time of the year, and he was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. He is proceeded in death by his dad James Spargur Jr, his birth mother Ruth, and sister Irene. Survivors include his children JD, Bailee, and Joyce Lynn Spargur and bonus children Bo Autry, and Eryka Shackelford. His grandchildren Walker and Georgia Shackelford, and Brantley. His bonus mom Denise Forbis and bonus dad Billy Forbis of Paris; and sister, Karee Spargur of Paris. Multiple aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
A visitation is scheduled on Saturday, Aug. 22 nd from 5 – 6 p.m. at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
