The North Lamar High School gym was filled with more than school spirit Tuesday night as the Pantherettes took on Pleasant Grove. Fans packed the stands in a sea of pink, coming together not only to cheer on their volleyball team but also to show love and support for North Lamar alumna and mother Kelsey Evans and her family.
As part of the special “Pink Out” night, 300 pink shirts were given away to fans, turning the gym into a powerful display of unity and community support. Donations collected throughout the evening were given directly to the Evans family.
While the evening featured a competitive volleyball matchup, the true victory was found in the overwhelming support shown by the North Lamar community.
“It’s bigger than a game. It’s about love, community, and lifting each other up. Proud to be a part of North Lamar Volleyball!” said Assistant Volleyball Coach Jackie Sue High.
North Lamar ISD extends its appreciation to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the evening a meaningful show of support for the Evans family.
At North Lamar, being a Panther is about more than the name on a jersey. It’s about a community that stands together when it matters most.
