North Lamar Intermediate students, families, and staff recently came together for one of the campus’s favorite traditions — the annual Skip, Jump & Run fundraiser — raising more than $35,000 to support the school’s PE Department and North Lamar’s Children’s Fund.
Held Friday, May 1st, the event combined physical activity, school spirit, and community involvement as students and parents filled the track walking together throughout the day. The fundraiser encourages healthy activity while helping provide resources and opportunities that directly benefit students on campus.
One of the highlights of the morning was the return of “Hula Hassle,” a competitive and crowd-favorite activity loved by North Lamar students. Grade levels competed for bragging rights and the chance to earn a popcorn party for their class. Winning classes from each grade level celebrated with the special reward following the event.
Students also enjoyed sno cones provided by Kona Ice, while Barry Diamond kept the energy high throughout the day serving as DJ for the event.
Campus staff shared that the overwhelming support from families, donors, and community members helped make this year’s fundraiser one of the most successful yet. Funds raised will help provide equipment and opportunities for the PE Department while also supporting North Lamar’s Children’s Fund, which assists students and families in need throughout the district.
North Lamar Intermediate expressed appreciation to everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, and helped make the event a success for students.
