On Apr. 16, A Burglary of a Vehicle was reported in the 2800 block of Mahaffey St. The victim advised that a 9mm handgun was stolen from his unlocked truck on the previous night/morning. There was no obvious evidence to be collected. The firearm was listed as stolen in statewide computer.
On Apr. 17, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of W Washington in regards to a Criminal Trespass. The manager advised that there was a subject in an apartment whom she wanted to have trespassed. The officer went to the apartment and was advised by the occupant, Jamie Dianne Black (47), that the subject was not there. Eventually the manager of the apartments accompanied the officer to the afore mentioned apartment, made entry, and located the subject. The officer was given permission to enter the apartment as well and located drug paraphernalia as well as narcotics in plain view. Black claimed all of the contraband belonged to her. She also later voluntarily turned over other narcotics she had concealed in her clothing. Black was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance. The male subject was given a criminal trespass warning from the location.
On Apr. 19, Officers arrested Xavier Desjuan Hall (35) in the 400 block of NE 35th after being notified of his location and that he had an outstanding Parole Warrant. Hall was located at the location and placed under arrest for the Parole Violation warrant Felon in Possession of Firearm X 2. He was booked without incident.
On Apr. 19, Officers responded to a welfare concern in the 1400 block of Bonham St. Information provided indicated that Richard Abraham Thomas (32) was on scene in a verbal argument with a female and that he was possibly armed with a firearm. Officers arrived and located Thomas leaving the area on foot. They detained and questioned him about the incident and the firearm. He denied knowledge of a firearm and said he and the female had come to the church for counseling. As officers continued to investigate the incident Thomas admitted to having thrown a handgun over a fence into a yard to avoid being caught with it. Thomas is a convicted felon. The handgun was recovered and Thomas was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Tampering with Evidence. He was booked without incident.
On Apr. 19, Officers received a report of a stolen firearm. The victim stated he is missing a handgun from his address in the 700 block of E. Price or from his vehicle. It is unknown when the handgun went missing as the victim has not seen it or looked for it in several months. The handgun was entered in nationwide data base as stolen/missing.
On Apr. 19, Officer was dispatched to a call in the 3700 block of Clarksville St. The victim advised a girlfriend had cut the tires on her vehicle. The officer noted that both rear tires were flat. The victim advised officers had responded earlier that date due to the suspect assaulting her by punching, choking, and biting her. Officers gathered evidence and photographed the victim’s injuries. An emergency protective order was requested. The case investigation is ongoing.
Officers made 79 traffic stops, 11 adult arrest, and answered 292 calls for service during this reporting period.
