The inaugural Special Olympics Texas Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge in Paris has been scheduled for Mar. 1, 2026, at the Paris Aquatic Center.
“All first responders are encouraged to brave the cold water to empower our local athletes. Come show your support in a challenging way. Show them the crazy and seemingly impossible is very possible,” said Community Outreach Coordinator Kimmie Snowton.
The event raises money for Special Olympics programs by taking a chilly plunge into icy water. All fund raised go toward year-round sports training, health, inclusion and competition opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Texas.
Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. followed by the opening ceremony at 12:45 p.m. and the plunge at 1 p.m.
Entry is $40 for adults and $25 for youth.
Sponsorships are available.
