On Sept. 30, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Graham St after recognizing an occupant, Mindy Marie Widener (41) and having knowledge that she had outstanding warrants. The driver, Amy Marie Milner (40) was also found to have warrants and so both were arrested. After the arrest, a vehicle inventory located methamphetamine under the driver’s seat. Milner was charged with outstanding municipal warrants and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Widener was charged with a Parole Violation Warrant. Both were booked and placed in jail. A third passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene.
On Sept. 30, Officers responded to an auto theft in the 100 block of SW 44th St. Cameras on scene recorded three individuals stealing the victim’s vehicle, a 2020 Chevrolet car. The victim advised the car was unlocked with keys inside. While the officer was working the incident, he located another stolen vehicle in the area which had been previous reported. The stolen 2020 Chevrolet was recovered shortly thereafter by Lamar County Deputies in the area of Hopewell Texas. The vehicle was returned to the owner and the investigation will continue.
On Sept. 30, Officers received a report of a Burglary of a Vehicle in the 3200 block of Robin Road. The vehicle was unlocked and a handgun and ammunition was taken from the vehicle. The incident is under investigation.
On Sept. 20, Officers responded to a Security Check in the 1300 block of Bonham St. Once at the location they were notified that a Ram Pickup that was parked there had been reported stolen out of Red River County SO. Through investigation, it was determined that the possession of the truck was being disputed due to a civil issue. The suspect in possession of the truck voluntarily surrendered the truck to the registered owner who came and picked the truck up. Case was closed.
On Oct. 1, Officers responded to the 6000 block of Lily Ln on a security check. Officers made contact with Allen Ray McFarland (66) who was in a vehicle with all doors open. McFarland advised he was getting some tools at the direction of his boss. Officers investigated the incident further and found that the vehicle belonged to an inmate in the Lamar County Jail. The owner did not know McFarland and said that he had no permissions to be in the vehicle. McFarland was detained for suspicion of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. McFarland was found to have narcotics and drug paraphernalia on his person. He resisted officers attempts to remove him from the vehicle and had to be physically subdued. He was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting Arrest or Transport. He was booked into the City Jail.
Officers made 7 traffic stops, 5 adult arrest, and answered 88 calls for service during this reporting period.
