Rebecca, our beloved Becky, dearly loved being called “Meme” by her grandchildren, was born January 7, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, a daughter of Herman and Patsy Conger. From the very start, she was a fighter, a “Blue Baby” whom doctors said wouldn’t live past six weeks. But God had greater plans for her — a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and service.
She grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she attended school and eventually met Edward Moore, a young man who had just returned from serving in the U.S. Air Force. They married in December 1978 and built a life grounded in faith and unconditional love. They raised three children and shared over 43 years of laughter, challenges, and countless precious moments until Edward’s passing.
Shortly after their marriage, Edward began pastoring a Church in Palestine, TX, followed by a Church in Mount Pleasant, TX. She was a caring Pastor’s Wife and did whatever was necessary to help spread the Gospel, including learning the piano, driving the Church Van, and Teaching Sunday School.
In the early 90s, the family moved to Paris, TX, and Becky went back to work as a Teacher’s Aide in the Special Education Department at Justiss Elementary School. This wasn’t a job but a calling: to help the marginalized and less fortunate, which she did with dignity and grace.
For over 20 years, Becky served her community as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS, but she was so much more than her job title. She was a friend to everyone who knew her, a mentor who remembered every birthday and never showed up without a thoughtful gift or kind word. Her heart was so big, and she gave it freely to those around her.
Becky had a gift for making life sweeter in spirit and the kitchen, ensuring everyone felt welcomed. Her cinnamon rolls were legendary, her lemon pound cake was the talk of the town, and her chocolate cake was a family treasure. But her favorite was cookies made with her grandchildren, enjoying those precious moments filled with love and warmth. Her home was also filled with treasures she created by hand, through sewing, making blankets, and beautiful homemade jewelry that reflected her creativity and the joy she found in giving to others.
She also enjoyed the quiet comforts of life — the charm of Hallmark movies, the timeless laughter of I Love Lucy — and the steady peace of time spent with family. Above all, she loved her Lord with her whole heart. Her devotion to Jesus shaped how she lived, serving others with kindness, extending grace, living each day with a servant’s heart, always welcoming and willing to help anyone in need.
Becky is survived by her grieving children: Jeremy Moore and wife Sabina, Anna Michelle Snow and husband Tye, and Michael Moore and wife Happy; her grandchildren: Katie, Becca and husband Vonte Edwards, and Ishak Moore; David and wife Lexie Snow, and James Snow; and Sophie Moore; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver and Morgan, who brought her endless happiness in later days, and her ex-daughter-in-law Jackie Jackson. She also leaves behind her sister, Debbie Harper, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends who loved her deeply and will forever hold her in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Patsy Conger; her beloved husband, Edward Moore; and other cherished family members.
To know Becky was to be loved by her. She walked this earth as a faithful servant, a constant good in our lives, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished friend. Today, she is reunited with her Edward and, most importantly, with her Savior — hearing the words she lived her life to one day receive: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
