On July 13, Officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Stone Avenue. They observed two individuals fighting. The two were separated and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, fighting in public. As officers were preparing to leave the scene, Kendravia Zanaria Davis (22) arrived on scene and began interfering with the officers working of the scene. Davis then approached an officer’s vehicle and was interfering with his preparations to leave. Davis was repeatedly asked to move aside and allow the officer to conduct his duties but continued to interfere. Officers attempted to detain Davis, who resisted detention and had to be placed on the ground and held there for handcuffing. Davis was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
On July 14, an officer stopped a vehicle in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street for a vehicle equipment violation. The driver was identified as William John Heyden (42). Officers found Heyden to have open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle and to be intoxicated. Heyden had three previous convictions of DWI and so his charge was enhanced to Felony Driving While intoxicated.
On July 14, Officers responded to a theft at Wal-Mart. James Edward Miller (42) was arrested for taking items and not paying before leaving the store. Miller had previously been given a trespass warning from the location. Miller was found to have two previous convictions for Theft. His charge was enhanced to a Felony and he was booked without incident for Theft under 2,500.00 Habitual and Criminal Trespassing.
On July 12, Officers were notified of the theft of a 2014 Honda Motorcycle and an aluminum trailer that the bike was being hauled on from the 300 block of NE 8th Street. The theft occurred around 2130 on the date reported. The trailer and motorcycle were entered as stolen in the TCIC/NCIC system. The investigation is ongoing.
On July 13, Officers worked an incident in which suspects had pursued a victim from the 500 block of W. Campbell St to another location on NE 12th. During the pursuit the suspects had thrown items at the victim’s car damaging it. Another of the suspects had struck the victim’s vehicle with a car door, causing damage. Officers collected information and a follow up investigation will proceed.
Officers made 27 traffic stops, 14 adult arrest, and answered 308 calls for service for this reporting period.
