Seventeen members of Prairiland High School’s Senior Beta Club recently traveled to Grapevine to participate in the National Beta Texas Regional Leadership Summit, where students earned national recognition and secured a spot at next summer’s National Convention in Fort Worth.
The club’s Project Proposal team qualified to compete at the national level, while Prairiland students also participated in several leadership challenges, including Beta Blitz, Being Better Betas, Collaboration Connection and Representative Interview.
Their efforts earned Prairiland the distinction of being named a National Beta Outstanding Leadership School.
Prairiland student Hayley Maldonado also played a significant role in the summit, serving as one of this year’s Regional Leadership Representatives.
Throughout the event, Maldonado helped coordinate leadership challenges, delivered an inspirational speech to approximately 560 high school Beta members in attendance and assisted National Beta sponsors in interviewing candidates for next year’s leadership positions.
National Beta Regional Leadership Summits bring together students for one- to two-day events designed to develop leadership skills through interactive speakers, team-building activities and collaborative challenges.
Students are challenged to demonstrate communication, critical thinking, creativity, presentation and teamwork skills while connecting with fellow Beta members.
Prairiland’s Project Proposal team will advance to the National Beta Convention in Fort Worth during the summer of 2027.
