Each year, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department hosts Free Fishing Day on the first Saturday of June, which means you don’t have to have a license to fish.
The fishing holiday kicks off National Fishing and Boating Week. On this day anglers can fish on any public waterbody in the state without a fishing license. The initiative is intended to provide a fun fishing opportunity for anglers of all ages.
