Registration is underway for the 2023 Texas 2A “MAN”tique and Lamar County Republican spring predator hunt with cash payouts to first-, second- and third-place winners.
Kickoff will be at noon on April 1 with a mandatory check-in at 11 a.m. at Texas 2A “MAN”tique, 6325 Lamar Rd. In Reno. The predator hunt will run for 24 hours and end at noon on April 2.
Points per harvested animal:
- Hogs, 0.5
- Coyote, 2.0
- Bobcat, 4.0
- Fox (red or grey), 6.0
- Mt. Lion, 8.0
All TPWD Rules and Regulations must be adhered to. All legal hunting methods (no trapping – strictly enforced).
Prizes include:
- 1st-place, $750
- 2nd-place, $500
- 3rd-place, $250
Big cat/dog pot is $40 per team to enter with a 100% payout. All monies paid on extra pots will be combined and split in half for big cat and big dog winners.
Weigh-in/scoring and awards will take place from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on April 2 at American Towing, 1840 N.E. Loop 286. Contestants must be present no later than 2:30 p.m. on April 2. Animals to be scored must be self sufficient before being harvested, baby animals that are not self sufficient will not be scored
Any violations to the rules will cause an immediate disqualification and an immediate forfeiture of all monies previously paid. Hunters must provide own hunting lands as lands will not be provided.
The cost to register is $100 per two-man team. Tie-breaker will be decided by coin toss.
