Virginia Ione Stotts, aged 68, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 1, 1956 in Terrell, Texas to Ernest and Eddie Driver. She was the eldest of 4 children, with siblings Johanna Preston, Janet Aubrey and Kline Driver.
She graduated early from Paris High School in 1973 where she was involved in 4H and enjoyed playing the piano. She attended Paris Junior College, University of Montreal and East Texas State University. She graduated on December 1978 with highest honors and with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, English, Reading, French, all with a level K-12 certification.
She was a lifetime educator. She taught in Mt Vernon, Mt Pleasant and Richardson. Throughout her career she taught English, Reading, Literature, French, Music, Piano, Choir and Family Consumer Science. She loved her students and expected them to reach their true potentials. She worked day and night to help them accomplish their goals.
She married her high school sweetheart, Danny Stotts, on November 23, 1974. She greatly loved her family, children and grandkids. She was a great wife, mom, and friend.
She will be remembered for always helping others. She was truly a blessed child of the Lord and follower of Christ. She spent her life exemplifying a 1 Corinthians 13 type of love. She was patient, kind, and humble. She honored others and her love always protected, trusted, hoped and persevered. People knew she was a Christian by her love and light. Even though her light is out now, she left the world much brighter.
Survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Danny Stotts, her 3 children, Daniel Stotts, David Stotts, Em Stotts, her 2 daughters-in-law, Veronica Stotts and Christina Stotts, and her 3 grandchildren, Dominic Stotts, Derrick Stotts, and Rosaleigh Stotts.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. John Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in McDonald Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 – 8 p.m.
