Paris Police responded to a shots fired call in the 2800 block of Kessler Dr at 1:57 P.M. on January 8th, 2019.

“It was reported that a small white SUV had driven by a residence and someone in the vehicle had shot at two subjects standing in a driveway,” said Officer Curtis Garrett.

The caller advised that after the SUV left the area, the subjects standing in the driveway also left.

The vehicle was located in the 3900 block of FM 195 by a Department of Public Safety Trooper.

“The trooper had two people detained and the investigation led officers to obtain a search warrant to the residence where the suspects were located,” said Garrett.

Officers located narcotics and a stolen handgun in the residence.

Police arrested 23-year-old Parris Quintez Hughes, of Paris, and charged him with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, theft of a firearm, and possession of marijuana.

Also arrested at the residence on FM 195 was Paris resident, Zakary Tyler Nunn, 21, on two outstanding warrants charging him with unlawful restraint and assault family violence by impeding breathing.

These warrants stemmed from a November 5, 2018 investigation where an assault was reported in the 400 block of NW 18th St.

The investigation of the shooting is still ongoing.
