Around 7 p.m. Thursday evening, Paris police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 600 block of County Road 44050.
“The vehicle pulled to the side of the road numerous times but failed to stop,” said Lt. John Berry.
The vehicle eventually stopped in the 200 block of County Road 44045 and officers made contact with 39-year-old David Thomas and 19-year-old Misty Smith.
“Thomas and Smith were found to be in possession of approximately ½ ounce of methamphetamine, digital scales, and a marijuana pipe.”
Both, Thomas and Smith were placed under arrest for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.
Smith was found to have several misdemeanor warrants out of the municipal court and Lamar County and was also charged with those warrants.
Thomas was also charged with a misdemeanor charge.
