Troy Edward Gordon

Troy Edward Gordon was born in Biardstown, Texas on May 21, 1931, to parents John Oscar Gordon and Clara Dodd Gordon. He attended Delmar and Hazeldell Schools.Troy was a faithful man to his country, community, church, and family. After school, he joined the U.S. Army where he received 2 Purple Hearts while serving in Korea. Once home from the war, he served in the Paris Fire Department for 31 years before retiring in 1986. (He was usually the first one on the scene.) He served on the Chisum Independent School Board as trustee. He was a deacon at his church; Glory Baptist and at home, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family.

Troy was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Juanita Gordon, and granddaughter, Anita Gordon.

He is survived by his children; Jeff Gordon and wife, Dixie, Charles Gordon and wife, April, Renee Trammell and husband, Neil, and Theresa Gordon and partner, Bill Smith; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Fry Gibbs Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13th from 6 – 8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 14 at 10:00 AM at Rockford Cemetery in Biardstown.
