During the 65th Annual Paris Rodeo, new rodeo royalty was crowned as Ashlyn Hutchinson was named Paris Rodeo Queen and Quinn Dixon named Lil Miss Paris Rodeo.
“This year’s contestants were a pleasure to get to know and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them all become more confident in themselves throughout the contest and rodeo,” said Rodeo Royalty Director Anna Bess Phillips.
Hutchinson, a junior at Chisum High School and the daughter of Clay and Kim Hutchinson, grew up riding horses with her sister, Kaitlyn, who won the title two-years ago.
The sisters participated in play days and riding on the Texas Spirit Riding Professional Drill Team for two years.
She is a straight A student, an active member of FFA, and is the Chisum Chapter secretary. Showing livestock for seven years, she is also on the Chapter Conducting Team and plays basketball, tennis, and running track.
“I am excited to represent the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club over the next year at surrounding rodeos.”
Dixon, who turned four-years old on Aug. 4 and is the daughter of Katie Bartlett and Cody Dixon, has grown up around animals and especially loves riding her mini pony, Tonto, who can’t go anywhere without his sidekicks, Dale (a donkey) and Trump (a goat).
She loves all animals and spends as much time outside as she can, whether it be riding her bike, playing with her chickens, or swimming. She loves cheerleading and attends Sky Athletics.
Other awards given was ‘Best Western Wear’ which Lil Miss contestant, Kennedy Grider won, ‘Overall Modeling’ which was awarded to Lil Miss contestant Exie Charman, and ‘Little Miss Sweetheart’ awarded to Quinn Dixon.
Dixon also won ‘Miss Photogenic’ which was determined by public vote on Facebook.
“The girls all worked hard in the heat while helping to better the rodeo experience and greeting rodeo fans. Thank you to everyone who sponsors the Paris Rodeo and Horse Club.”
