Thousands of people rallied in support of President Donald Trump on Saturday during a Texas-Oklahoma parade organized by the Association of Lamar County Republicans.
“I was very pleased with the turnout, the patriotism, and the excitement that was shown Saturday,” Robert Black, Association of Lamar County Republicans President said.
Those participating started in two locations, the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in Lamar County and Hugo Agriplex in Choctaw County. Leaving at 9 a.m., supporters traveled up and down Highway 271 showing their support for President Trump.
Choctaw County Terry Park said on Facebook, “It felt good to watch hundreds of people gather for the parade. That was the longest parade I’ve ever been a part of. United we stand.”
Cars, trucks, semi-trailers, RVs, cattle trailers, motorcycles, and even two planes donned American, Texas, “Make America Great Again” and Trump-supporting flags, as well as, “Truckers for Trump” banners and more.
“Oh, my eyes swelled with tears of joy and patriotism and the fear of God in love for this USA of America as I traveled to the hospital this morning,” said Julie Barber Oakes on Facebook. “There were hundreds of patriots on both sides of the highway going North and South from Hugo to Paris. The most enjoyable trip I have ever made to Paris. Thank you Terry Park for leading the parade. VOTE TRUMP/PENCE.”
Traci Whitaker Scott said, “This was such a blessing to participate in. God bless America.”
Black said he wanted to thank Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass and his team, Paris Police Department Interim-Chief Randy Tuttle and his team and Reno Police Department Chief Jeremy Massey and his team for making traffic flow without a hitch on the Texas side, and Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park and his team from the Oklahoma side.
“Many thanks to all participants and all who helped coordinate and organize,” said Black. “We not only support our President and conservative leaders but we also support our law enforcement and give them many thanks for not only their help today but their many years of service making sure we remain safe. God bless you all! Trump 2020.”
