Thomas Patton Helms, 77, of Paris, Texas passed away, Monday, May 27th, 2019, unexpectedly while spending time with his family. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 1, 2019 in the Knights of Honor Cemetery with Pastor Douglas Overly officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Helms, Josh Helms, Jeremy Helms, Robert Stanphill, Gene Foster and Phillip Peeples.
He was born March 25th, 1942 in Rotan, Texas, the son of Patton Helms and Edna Ingram Helms. He married Marilyn Helms on May 5th, 1962 in Tulia, Texas. He was a member of the Paris Masonic Lodge and was an employee of Campbell Soup Co. for 38 years as a maintenance supervisor.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn Helms just a year ago.
He is survived by his two children, Cathy Elms and husband, Rick Elms of Austin, Texas and Steven Helms and his wife, April Helms of Paris, Texas; four grandchildren, Megan and her husband, Robert Stanphill of Texarkana, Texas, Brandon Helms and his wife Jennifer of Klondike, Texas, Josh Helms and his wife Jordan of Paris, Texas and Jeremy Helms and his wife, Marina of Deport, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Elsie Heffernan and husband Harvey of Fairbanks, Alaska.
