This is a developing story and we will update as more information comes in.

Two people are dead and 14 injured after a mass shooting at a party in Greenville, Texas, early Sunday morning.

“This was a homecoming/Halloween event that was not sanctioned by A&M Commerce,” said Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks. “There are 16 total injured with 12 sustaining gunshot wounds and two male victims deceased.”

Graphic video posted online showed seriously wounded people, with at least one receiving CPR as people screamed in the background.

The party, with reportedly had over 750 people in attendance, was being held at The Party Venue off US 380 outside Greenville city limits.

“The weapon used was a handgun and not a rifle as first thought. There were prop rifle rounds on the ground,” said Meeks.

Meeks added the suspect is still at large but they don’t believe the shooter was one of the party goers.

“The shooter entered a back door and started shooting. The first victim is believed to be the targeted victim.”

He added, “witness at the haven’t been much help with any good description of the suspect.”

A Farmersville ISD police officer was working security at the party said Meeks.

The first HCSO unit on scene was the on duty Sargent and he transported on victim to the Greenville hospital. A HCSO patrol officer started working on other PT until medics arrived on scene.

“The FBI offered there help with this scene and wasn’t requested. The FBI is on scene helping with the investigation. Texas Rangers are also helping out.”

No further information is available at this time. We will update as we get more information.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this heartbreaking event.
