If haunted houses don’t bother you and you have $1.2 million to spend on a new home, then you might want to check out the colonial Rhode Island home that the movie, ‘The Conjuring’ was based on.
“Rumored to be haunted by the presence of Bathsheba Sherman, who in the 1800’s lived in the house, 1677 Round Top Road is one of the most well-known haunted houses in the United States,” the Sotheby’s International Realty listing reads.
According to the listing, many qualified paranormal researchers have been invited into the home – most famously Ed and Lorraine Warren, who founded the oldest ghost hunting team in New England, and in the 1970s were hired to rid the home of its evil. The Warrens confirmed that the events depicted in The Conjuring movies (the third just recently released) actually transpired.
One of the home’s current owners, Jenn Heinzen, told the Wall Street Journal that she and her husband believe the house is haunted by ghosts from King Philip’s War, the bloody and brutal 1675-1678 conflict between local native people and white settlers. However, she says she has felt no “malevolence” in the home and believes it’s the land that’s stigmatized, not the house itself.
But if none of that bothers you, then this beautiful three-bed, two-bath 3,109 sq ft home on 8.5 acres might just be the one for you.
