Originally from Paris, Texas, Susan McCoin made California her home, where she built a fulfilling life and career before retiring from UCLA as a devoted teacher.
Susan had a lifelong love for animals—especially dogs—and they were a constant source of joy in her life. Among her many pets over the years, she cherished her last two companions most dearly: Annie, her beloved Yorkie, and Sam, her faithful cat.
A woman of many passions, Susan found joy in poetry, collecting antique lamps, tending to her garden, and playing the cello regularly. Her intellect, energy, and positive spirit carried her gracefully through life’s many challenges, inspiring those who knew her.
She was the only child of Roy H. McCoin and Sarah Lois McCoin and will be laid to rest beside them at Highland Cemetery following a service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24th at the Pavilion of Highland Cemetery with Rev. Gary O’Connor officiating. Bright-Holland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
