James Christopher “Jim” Weddle, 84, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at his home.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
Jim, the son of Willis Hymer Weddle & Vera Louisa Hill Weddle, was born June 6, 1941, in Keota, OK. He graduated from East Lamar High School at Pattonville, TX in 1959. His career as a truck driver spanned 40 years before his retirement in June 2004. He drove for Safeway and Yellow Freight. He was a faithful member of Powderly Church of God.
Jim was a wonderful husband and father. He never met a stranger. He loved motorcycles and old cars and trucks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and all his siblings, Neil Weddle, Ronnie Weddle, Junior Weddle, Betty Lou Barry, and Annette Chennault Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Thompson Weddle, whom he married on November 16, 1996, in Denton, TX. Two sons, Greg Weddle and wife Terri and Jeff Weddle and wife Bonnie, two daughters, Marla Morris and husband Mike and Rachel Beavers and husband Jim, grandchildren, Seth Weddle, Wyatt Weddle, Reese Weddle, Jerred Weddle, Mitchell Morris and wife Montana and their son, James Micah Morris, who was Jim’s only great grandchild and the light of his life, Maddie Morris, Bix Beavers, and Josey Beavers and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
