Throughout December, Starbucks is giving free coffee to front-line workers amid the ongoing pandemic.
Starbucks said the move to give front-line workers a free cup of coffee was sparked by the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country.
“Starbucks said the move to give health care workers and first responders a free cup of Joe was sparked by the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country,” said the coffee giant on Twitter.
Virginia Tenpenny, Starbucks vice president for global social impact, said in a news release. “It has been an extraordinarily difficult year, especially for the front-line responders who are serving our communities. We want to show our deep gratitude for those who support and protect us every day with a small gesture of kindness and a cup of coffee.”
All month long, front-line workers only need to identify themselves as such (no ID required). Those eligible for the promotion include doctors, nurses, public health workers, pharmacists, dispatchers, firefighters, paramedics, police officers, dentists, dental hygienists, mental health workers, hospital staffers (janitors/housekeeping/security, etc.), and active-duty military.
